International PROGRAM


revises its curriculum to be ready for the digital era and also to  increase chances for students to gain a double-degree or be an exchange student to study abroad.

 

 

Dr. Kritsada Sriphaew (Asst. Prof.), the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Program Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) stated that nowadays information and communication technology plays a major role in all aspects of our lives.  In the fields of academics, industry, and commercial practices information and communication technology is needed to expedite speed and enhance works efficiency.  Various types of work that require information and communication technology skills have become more complicated.  Therefore, all professional staff in the information and communication technology field do not only need to have the appropriate training, but also need to acquire certain knowledge and direct experiences for the purpose of designing suitable working systems.  The ICT program at the Rangsit International College places an importance on the teaching method of learning from real work experiences.  Thus, the preparation of creating information and communication technology specialists is a major mechanism in adding value to the global and Thai society in the future. 

 

Following the University’s policies, the ICT academic team has revised its own curriculum aiming to provide all students with up-to-date courses.  Students will have a chance to learn both theory and practical aspects of ICT to apply their trade in future works.  This revised curriculum is based on social demand.  The standards for information technology have already been a part of teaching and learning.  This includes the Association for Computing Machinery; ACM, the standards from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology; and the international standards from foreign countries, such as ITIL, CMMI, ISO, etc.

 

Students may now also select to earn a Double-degree, with a major in the International Business Program.  In their forth of academic year of study, they will go to study at the University of Canberra in Australia, or join the students exchange program and study abroad at one of sixty leading collaborated universities. 

The amended curriculum emphasizes the following five major areas:  

 

 

  • Organizations and Information Systems: emphasis on both theory and practical studies in order to apply information system technology in organizations;
     

  • Applied Technologies:  emphasis on applying technologies in various platforms on both PC and mobile devices;
     

  • Technology and Software Approach:  emphasis on developing programs and software in order to support various kinds of works;

  • Information Infrastructure: emphasis on studying network systems, web systems, and technology; and
     

  • Field and practical learning:  Thesis and Cooperative education subjects with an emphasis on real life work in the area of information technology at leading organizations cooperating with Rangsit University. 
     

Who are you going to be?

 

After graduation, due to exemplary language skills, students will be able to work inside or outside Thailand in various careers, such as Information Technology Analysts and Design, Program Designers, Program and Software Developers, Data Base Administrators, Computer Network Administrators, or Freelance Experts.  This could include being one of those famous IT people.
