GENERAL INFORMATION

 

1. All students admitted to a RSU international program must meet the University’s English language requirements for admission.

 

2. The University sets a minimum standard of English Language Requirement. Some courses may set higher minimum requirements. Any courses with a minimum English Language Requirement higher than the standard minimum requirement shall be detailed in the Annex to this Rule.

 

3. When an IELTS, TOEFL or other approved test score is used to demonstrate English proficiency, that score must have been attained within two years of the date of application for admission.

 

4. The minimum requirements apply to

ACCOUNTANCY (Bachelor of Accountancy, RSU),
INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS(Bachelor of Business Administration, International Business, RSU),
COMMUNICATION ARTS (Bachelor of Communication Arts, RSU),
PHILOSOPHY, POLITICS, AND ECONOMICS (Bachelor of Arts, Philosophy, Politics and Economics, RSU),
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT (Bachelor of Arts, International Relations and Development, RSU),
INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (Bachelor of Science, Information and Communication Technology, RSU) and (Bachelor of Science, Computer Science) or Bachelor of Science (Business Information Systems) or Bachelor of Science (Business Information Systems and Computer Science) at Murdoch University, Australia),
ASIAN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (Bachelor of Arts, Asian Business Management, RSU),
INTERNATIONAL MARKETING AND ONLINE BUSINESS (Bachelor of Business Administration, International Marketing and Online Business, RSU),

Standard Minimum English Language Requirement

 

5. At least one of the following criteria must be met:

5.1 English is the applicant's first language; or

5.2 Satisfactory completion within the last five years of one year of full-time study at secondary year 12 level, post-secondary or tertiary level, where English was the sole medium of instruction; or

5.3 A pass grade or better in an English language subject at an accredited western year 12 level or overseas equivalent; or

5.4 An IELTS (Academic) overall score of at least 5 (or equivalent TOEFL score of at least 500 in the Paper-Based Test; 173 in the Computer-Based Test; or at least 59 in the Internet-Based Test); or Cambridge First Certificate; or CU-TEP Test equivalent score of 60 or other approved equivalents; or

5.5 Satisfactory completion of Rangsit University’s English Language Proficiency Test; or

5.6 Satisfactory completion of Rangsit University International College (RIC) English Language Preparation Program.

Courses Requiring English Language Requirements Other than the University’s Minimum Requirement

6. The special requirements apply to NURSING SCIENCE (Bachelor of Nursing Science, Nursing Science, RSU), and COMMERCIAL PILOT (Bachelor of Science, RSU)

NURSING SCIENCE (Bachelor of Nursing Science, RSU)

An IELTS (Academic) overall score of at least 4 (or equivalent TOEFL score of at least 437 in the Paper-Based Test, or least 123 in the Computer-Based Test; or at least 41 in the Internet-Based Test, CU-TEP Test equivalent score of 40 or other approved equivalents; or Satisfactory completion of Rangsit University’s English Language Proficiency Test; or Rangsit University’s English Language Preparation Program.

COMMERCIAL PILOT(Bachelor of Science, RSU)

An IELTS (Academic) overall score of at least 5 (or equivalent TOEFL score of at least 500 in the Paper-Based Test, or least 173 in the Computer-Based Test; or at least 59 in the Internet-Based Test, CU-TEP Test equivalent score of 60 or other approved equivalents; or Satisfactory completion of Rangsit University’s English Language Proficiency Test; or Rangsit University’s English Language Preparation Program.

English Language Requirements for Postgraduate Degree Courses
INTERNATIONAL HEALTH (Graduate Diploma, RSU)

7. At least one of the following criteria must be met:

7.1 Satisfactory completion of a four year undergraduate degree or a graduate degree from an accredited university in which English is either the official or co-official language of instruction; or

7.2 An IELTS (Academic) overall score of at least 5 (or equivalent TOEFL score of at least 500 in the Paper-Based Test, or least 173 in the Computer-Based Test;

7.3 or at least 59 in the Internet-Based Test, CU-TEP Test equivalent score of 60 or other approved equivalents; or

An overall score of at least 60% on the English Test conducted by the Rangsit English Language Institute.

 

INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

 

8. At least one of the following criteria must be met:

8.1 Satisfactory completion of a four year undergraduate degree or a graduate degree from an accredited university in which English is either the official or co-official language of instruction; or

8.2 An IELTS (Academic) overall score of at least 5.5 (or equivalent TOEFL score of at least 525 in the Paper-Based Test; 196 in the Computer-Based Test; or at least 69 in the Internet-Based Test); or Cambridge First Certificate; or CU-TEP Test equivalent score of 75 or other approved equivalents; or

8.3 An overall score of at least 60% on the English Test conducted by the Rangsit English Language Institute.

 

DIPLOMACY AND INTERNATIONAL STUDIES

 

9. One of the following criteria must be met:

9.1 Satisfactory completion of a four year undergraduate degree or a graduate degree from an accredited university in which English is either the official or co-official language of instruction; or

9.2 An IELTS (Academic) overall score of at least 5.5 (or equivalent TOEFL score of at least 525 in the Paper-Based Test; 196 in the Computer-Based Test; or at least 69 in the Internet-Based Test); or Cambridge First Certificate; or CU-TEP Test equivalent score of 75 or other approved equivalents; or

9.3 An overall score of at least 60% on the English Test conducted by the Rangsit English Language Institute.

 

BILINGUAL EDUCATION

 

(Master of Education, RSU)

10. One of the following criteria must be met:

10.1 Satisfactory completion of a four year undergraduate degree or a graduate degree from an accredited university in which English is either the official or co-official language of instruction; or

10.2 An IELTS (Academic) overall score of at least 5.5 (or equivalent TOEFL score of at least 525 in the Paper-Based Test; 196 in the Computer-Based Test; or at least 69 in the Internet-Based Test); or Cambridge First Certificate; or CU-TEP Test equivalent score of 75 or other approved equivalents; or

10.3 An overall score of at least 60% on the English Test conducted by the Rangsit English Language Institute.
